Futurebus Connectors
Switching to Switchcraft

The Futurebus connector system is a modular 2.00mm grid system for high density, high-speed signal board-to-backplane applications. The connectors are designed for use in telecoms, networking and high-end computing applications.

The Futurebus system offers design flexibility with PCB receptacles and headers that are end to end stackable. vertical male headers and right-angle female receptacles are available in 1,2, 4 and 8 module formats with 4 and 5 row options. Compliant press fit leads offer fast, solderless application to printed circuit boards

Housings are manufactured from high temperature liquid crystal polymer (LCP) whilst contacts are selective gold/tin plated for reliability and performance. The connectors have a current rating of 1.0A per pin, an initial contact resistance of 25 milliohms and operate between -55ºC and +125ºC. Components are packaged in tubes.

The Switchcraft product line includes reliable time-tested switches in a variety of sizes and styles, including lighted and unlighted pushbutton, rocker, toggle, slide, lever and multi-station switches in a variety of mounting options. Customized legends are available.

Cool Ball Grid Arrays

Aavid’s family of BGA heat sinks offers a wide range of cooling solutions for motherboard, video card, and networking applications. Plastic pins provide low-cost attachment, while brass pins provide higher reliability in extreme conditions.
Features include wire clip design to allow complete rework after assembly wihout damage to the BGA or PCB, minimal real estate required, solder anchors provide the most rugged mounting in the industry and the heat sink utilises a phase change pad as the interface for optimal thermal performance.

Hard Metric Connectors

The Hard Metric connector system is a modular 2.00mm grid system for high density, high-speed board-to-backplane applications. The connectors are designed for use in telecoms, networking and high end computing applications.

Offering industry standard compatibility, the range includes type A, B25, B22, B19, AB25, AB22, AB19 and C configurations with or without pre-installed shields. By utilising 6 contact geometry, a large number of varied contact mating and termination lengths can be provided. Sequential mating for hot-pluggable applications is available upon request.

A range of accessories is available to support all design requirements, including shrouds for mid-plane applications and coding keys to prevent mis-mating.
Housings are manufactured from glass-filled PBT, whilst the compliant press fit contacts are selective gold/tin plated for reliability and performance. The connectors have a current rating of 1A per pin, and initial contact resistance of 25 milliohms and operate between -55ºC and +125ºC. Components are packaged in tubes.
