SWITCHCRAFT - EXCLUSIVELY DISTRIBUTED BY CLARKE & SEVERN ELECTRONICS

The EN3 mini weathertight connectors are a great all-purpose connector
"weather" or not a sealing feature is required. They offer superior leakage pro-tection
because the contact area is double-sealed for excellent moisture and
chemical resistance when mated to Switchcraft's connectors. An integral
O-ring is molded onto the cord housing assembly and a gasket is molded
onto panel housing assembly to prevent leakage and eliminate the need for
additional O-rings and gaskets, thereby reducing labour to assemble.
The EN3 series has no grommets. Cable clamp assembly features living
hinges, which snap easily onto and support the cable. Thermoplastic rubber
body simulates closed entry contact system to prevent probe damage or
accidental loss of spring retention due to misaligned or bent pins.

• 2-8 pins and accepts cable diameter 4.95 to 6.75mm
• Housing rated UL 94V-O against flammability
• Positioning keyway to prevent misalignments
• Polarising single "D" design for proper panel mounting
• Abrasion-resistant thermoplastic boot provides strain relief
• Optional cap covers panel housing assembly when not in use
• Exceeds enclosure rating IP16/IP18 when not mated or covered
• IP66/IP68 when mated or covered (IEC 529)
• Exceeds enclosure rating 6P at 1000V when mated or covered (NEMA 250)

APPLICATIONS: Process Control Communications, Marine Electronics
Transportation, Medical Instrumentation General Industrial Electronics and
Geothermal Instrumentation Harsh Environments.

EN3 SERIES EXPANDS UP TO 18 PINS

The EN3™ Series is a popular plastic connector series that meets a number of harsh weather envi-ronmental ratings. It’s now available from 2 through 18 pins. The 9-18 pin versions are only available with solder terminals. The solder terminals come in two styles, straight or staggered. The straight style has equal length termi-nals, all facing the same way. The staggered version has the inner set of terminals longer than the outer set. Also, the staggered terminals face radially away from the centre of the connector, to make soldering much easier. The 9-18 versions carry the same envi-ronmental ratings as the 2-8, which include IP66/IP68 and NEMA 250, when mated.

Available in solder terminals only, either straight or staggered for easier soldering. Gold-plated pins and contacts are used to reduce contact resis-tance. For full details, call the INFOLINE on 02 9482 1944.

MICRO-MINIATURE COAX CONNECTORS

With an increasing demand for smaller RF appli-cations, HARWIN have launched a range of Micro-Miniature Coax Connectors (MMCX) ideally suited to densely populated electronic packages. The MMCX series provides significant space sav-ings, while maintaining good RF characteristics /performance.

Cable-to-board and cable-to-cable configura-tions can be accommodated. The non-slotted design and positive snap-fit coupling reduce RF leakage to a minimum and enable a 360° rotation without signal degradation. With a 50 ohm impedance rating and operating between 0 to 6 Ghz, the connectors offer comparable performance to that of much larger coax types.

Typical applications for MMCX connectors include:

  • GPS Receivers, Networking,
  • Telecommunications and consumer Electronics.
  • Styles available include:
  • Crimp Straight Plug
  • Crimp 90° Plug
  • Bulkhead Jack
  • Vertical Jack Socket
  • Horizontal Jack Socket
  • Straight Jack
